Grants & Funding

Fair Energy has access to up to date information on available funding streams and grants. We can give you professional advice and help you apply for grants for your wood fuel biomass and solar thermal projects.

All users of renewable heating systems are eligible for grants, incentives and help with finance, whether domestic, commercial, public sector or charitable organisation. We can help you access these incentives and maximise the benefits to your project.

Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP)

Customers in public sector, housing associations, charities and schools can secure 50% funding for the project from the LCBP. There is other funding available too, which could pay for the whole value of the project.

Community Sustainable Energy Programme, Big Lottery Fund

Not-for-profit community based organisations in England are eligible for grants of up to £50,000 or 50% for purchase and installation of renewable energy technologies including wood fuel and solar thermal. Grants of up to £5,000 are also available for feasibility studies investigating renewable technologies.

Local Council top-up grants

Some councils are now giving top-up grants in addition to the LCBP grants. Please contact your local authority or call us to find out more.

Carbon Trust Loans

The Carbon Trust is now offering 0% loans to businesses to install renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Repayments are matched to your existing energy costs, so you pay the same as you would to your energy supplier and you also get money paid back to you from the Renewable Heat Incentive. So the savings you get, coupled with the interest free loan means it needn’t cost your business anything to have a system installed.

Enhanced Capital Allowances

The Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme provides businesses with 100% first year tax relief for installation of carbon and energy saving technologies and is a straightforward way for businesses to improve cash flow through accelerated tax relief.
