Why Wood Fuels?

Why use wood fuel instead of gas or other fossil fuels?

Fossil fuels are increasingly scarce with oil, coal and gas reserves getting more difficult and costly to extract. Wood fuel is a cheap and plentiful source of carbon neutral fuel that supports local economies, communities and woodlands.

Our reliance on fossil fuels has massively increased the CO2 in our atmosphere and we are now having to combat the resulting global warming. Governments around the world are working to reduce CO2 levels and encourage sustainable and ecologically friendly fuel sources, so a range of incentives and grants are available in the UK.

Benefits of using wood fuel:

  • Wood fuel is clean, efficient, carbon neutral and lowers your carbon footprint
  • It is sourced locally throughout the UK, enabling a cheap, secure supply of fuel
  • UK sourced wood fuel can help local businesses and support the rural economy
  • Wood fuel generates lower levels of atmospheric pollutants such as sulphur dioxide, which contribute to acid rain
  • Incentives to lower CO2 levels, including the 0% Carbon Trust loan and The Renewable Heat Incentive are maximised by switching to wood fuel along with other technologies

Wood fuel is a modern solution to lowering fuel costs and CO2 levels
